Imola announces that more than 13,000 spectators will be able to attend the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix. After Monza and Mugello, it will be the first Grand Prix in Italy where a considerable amount of paying spectators can be present.
At the Italian Grand Prix, the doors were still closed for spectators and at Mugello less than 3,000 fans were welcome. FormulaPassion.it writes that the region of Emilia Romagna announced today that Imola can welcome 13,147 spectators on the day of the race.
Special derogation for Grand Prix
For the Grand Prix, the region has granted a derogation from the maximum number of spectators for national and international sporting events. The company Formule Imola S.p.A. has presented a plan in which special protocols are explained in order to make the event run smoothly.
Imola is one of the new additions to the revised Formula 1 calendar. For the first time since 2006, the Enzo e Dino Ferrari circuit will organise another Grand Prix, which will take place on 1 November.
