Last winter Max Verstappen signed a new contract with Red Bull Racing for four more years. He will remain with the team until the end of 2023. In the press conference at the Nürburgring, the Dutchman has admitted that at that time he had no indication that Honda would be quitting as early as the end of 2021.

Of course, the Dutchman admitted he knew before it was announced, but last winter he wasn't aware this was the plan. "But that can change," it sounds realistic from the mouth of Verstappen.

Subsequently, determination prevailed. He made it clear that he really wants to get the most out of the current and coming season. The title for 2020 seems to be unrealistic, but next year he wants to strike with the new engine and close the chapter with Honda on a high!

"I am not yet thinking about that either", he says. A comment that indicates that the options will indeed be open after that season. In any case, he hopes to have an engine. "Otherwise it will be pedalling like Fred Flintstone," he concluded according to Formule1.nl.
