Verstappen doesn't agree with analysts: 'Come on, Monaco is dangerous too!

It's been seven years since F1 last raced at the Nurburgring, but every time Formula 1 enters the German circuit, there is always talk of a possible return to the famous Nordschleife. Although this idea is still seen by most as unrealistic, more and more prominent names are in favour of it.
One of them is Max Verstappen. The Red Bull Racing driver had enough time on the rainy Friday to speculate in the media about the Nordschleife. Sky Sports asked him if he would like to drive his F1 car on the old track.
Verstappen on the risks
"Better we do a race," was the Dutchman's reaction. The broadcasters clearly expected a different response and argued that this would be far too dangerous. Verstappen disagreed. "Why not? Come on! Isn't Monaco dangerous too? We drive over 300 kilometres per hour there."
The plan to race in a modern F1 car at the Nürburgring is certainly not new. Hermann Tilke and Norbert Haug (from Mercedes) have already wanted to make this plan public. If it ever comes to that, some things will have to change, either on the cars or on the track. In that respect, it might be better to leave the Nordschleife alone.
