Norris has more confidence with old parts

Lando Norris went back to old parts of his team for the Eifel GP. The McLaren driver had no confidence in the upgrades after the Sochi GP.
McLaren only used the new parts during Russia's Grand Prix. During the last race at the Nürburgring, the team from Woking decided to install the upgrades on Carlos Sainz's car. Sainz finished fifth in a crazy German GP, while Norris had problems with his Renault engine. As a result, he had to abandon his race prematurely.
More confidence
"We stuck to what we knew was right to give myself a little more confidence," said Norris after qualifying in Germany against RaceFans about his decision to go with the old parts. "I wasn't happy after Sochi. There I had the new parts on my car and I never really felt confident. So now we have some older parts on the car, but these are parts that we know are good and that I had confidence.
"I think we had quite a difficult time at Sochi, looking back on that. We might have been higher up on the grid there and had more potential, but I feel we have maximized our position this weekend," concludes the 20-year- old Briton.
