Williams team boss denies Perez rumours
- GPblog.com
Is George Russell leaving Williams? Will there be a spot for Sergio Perez? And how fixed is the position of Nicholas Latifi? There is a lot of speculation about the Williams drivers' of 2021. Interim team boss Simon Roberts however, does not create clarity in his interview, despite denying the rumours.
Nothing changed at Williams
"Nothing has changed in the meantime," Roberts said at the press conference according to Motorsport-total.com. The team boss won't discuss his team's line-up for next year. At the moment Russell and Latifi are still expected to be in the car next year, but you can never be too sure in F1.
Nicholas Latifi seems to be safe because his father brings a lot of money to the team. The team from Grove have a tight budget so the money is extremely useful to them. That's why it would make sense for them to sign Sergio Perez, who brings a lot of racing pedigree along with big money.
Roberts keeps his lips together
Nevertheless, it remains a rumour, because Roberts is keeping quiet on the line-up: "There is a lot of speculation," is what the Brit has to say. When asked, Roberts does not want to answer with a yes or no whether Williams will be using the same driver duo next year.
