It was another tough day for Alex Albon as he finished outside of the points in his Red Bull at Portimao. Christian Horner has been explaining why Albon struggled so much whilst his teammate managed to podium
"Then we struggled to get the tires warmed. The McLaren's got the tires working quickly and then at one point he (Max) was fighting Kimi Raikkonen," Horner said on Sky Sports.
A tough day for Albon
That wasn't Albon's job. The 24-year-old driver had to settle for twelfth place. "It was a difficult day for Alex. He couldn't get the temperature into the front tires then got caught in traffic and then his tires opened up. Then we had to pit him again," explained the Brit
"We need to get Alex a couple of tenths where Valtteri is with Lewis. Everyone is working hard to get Alex to feel comfortable with the balance. His a great kid and everyone is pushing for him to keep the seat."
Red Bull congratulate Hamilton
Meanwhile, Lewis Hamilton took the 92nd victory of his career. Horner had plenty of praise for his compatriot. "That is about five seasons of winning. He goes into the record books as the most successful driver of all time. Hats off to him. Congratulations to Lewis," said Horner.
