Verstappen is satisfied with P3: 'You just have to accept that'

Max Verstappen managed to add another podium to his list of achievements at the Portuguese Grand Prix. The Dutchman had to fight for his position in the early stages, but in the end he crossed the line in a familiar position.
No risks
This season the picture in Formula 1 is fairly clear. The two Mercedes drivers are in the lead and Max Verstappen follows in third place. The start at Portimao was a bit challenging for Verstappen, but, like Lewis Hamilton, he didn't take too much risk.
''You just try to stay out of trouble, but of course I had that contact, so you're not really enjoying yourself. After that contact I looked at it for a moment, because I knew that at some point I could drive back to my position," Verstappen told Peptalk. The Dutchman clashed with Sergio Perez on the first lap, but it went down as a racing incident.
Verstappen is satisfied with P3
"It started raining and you know it, but I just didn't have a grip. Then you can't force anything, because you don't want to go off. When Kimi (Raikkonen) is sitting behind you, you don't think we are doing very well. However, I knew that at some point it would be okay again, so it's unnecessary to take risks. I'm going to be third anyway."
It's something Verstappen has to live with, he acknowledges. ''You have to accept the situation and try to get the most out of it. That's third place and I'm just happy with that," concludes the Red Bull Racing driver.
