Ricciardo: "I hope to become the second favourite"

If all goes well, the comeback of the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort will take place next year. Many drivers thought it was a pity that the Grand Prix, which was planned for the first time in May of this year, had to be cancelled. So did Daniel Ricciardo, who is looking forward to driving on the track.
Ricciardo looks forward to Zandvoort
"I'm really looking forward to it. It was a terrible shame it couldn't go on, but for beautiful things you sometimes have to be patient. It will be an exciting event. Max has great fans, I've noticed that as his teammate. They create a great atmosphere and I felt like one of them," says Ricciardo to NOS.
"The fact that I will be driving an orange McLaren next year is a great bonus. I have a lot of fans left over from my time with Max. Hopefully I will be the second crowd favourite at Zandvoort."
However, it remains uncertain whether the race at Zandvoort can continue due to the coronavirus. Ricciardo hopes that the event can continue, but without fans it will be less of a success. "Of course no one knows what will happen to COVID, but I hope the fans are welcome. Zandvoort without the orange army seems a bit empty to me," concludes Ricciardo.
