With five races to go, the battle for third place in the Constructors' Championship is as exciting as ever. Racing Point currently lead the way from McLaren and Renault but  Ferrari seem to be doing better after Charles Leclerc 's fourth place in Portimao .

Can Ferrari still compete?

Of all teams, Ferrari are the team that have disappointed the most in 2020. Leclerc has managed to paper over the cracks, but it has been a tough season for the Scuderia. However, at the Portuguese Grand Prix, there seemed to be an improvement, but Mattia Binotto does not want to get hopes up yet.

"The car has improved slightly, but the picture is not completely different. Our racepace in Mugello was very poor, but in Portugal it was very good again. The updates are not only responsible for that, but it is important in the next races to see if those updates actually deliver the performance we saw now, or if it only applies to Portimao," said Binotto according to Motorsport.com.

Leclerc fighting for P4

The gap between Ferrari and Racing Point is 33 points and between the two teams are Renault and McLaren. Charles Leclerc is in better shape, only five points behind the best of the rest of the in the Drivers' Championship: Daniel Ricciardo.

"Some of the characteristics of the last circuits have helped us a little. They were always small steps, but steps in the right direction. However, it does not explain the gains we made in the last two races. It's not just because of that," added Leclerc.
