Max Verstappen managed to get the most out of his car again by qualifying third for the Grand Prix of Emilia Romagna. At the circuit in Imola, however, it seemed during the second part of qualifying that Verstappen would not reach Q3 due to an engine problem. That was eventually resolved, much to Helmut Marko's surprise.
“Our mechanics have again done a fantastic job replacing the spark plug in record time,” explains the Austrian at ORF after qualifying. It is not the first time that the Red Bull Racing team have been very fast with replacing parts. In Hungary, Verstappen drove his car into the wall as he headed towards the grid and on the grid the team managed to replace his front suspension.
No pressure
According to Marko, it is always important that the team remain motivated so that such achievements are possible. “Of course we train a lot, we teach motivation and the whole team has been working together for a long time. When there is a lot of pressure, it seems like they just don't feel it. ”
Marko uses Hungary as an example, where you can see that the whole team is very attuned to each other. “I remember the team in Hungary was under tremendous pressure, perhaps the greatest pressure they have ever felt. Today they have proven again that they are a great group ”, Marko concludes.
