Daniel Ricciardo and Max Verstappen were very close during qualifying. Max Verstappen was driving down the pitlane when Daniel Ricciardo pulled out of his garage. The Dutchman had to press the brakes.

No crash

"At first I held back thinking he was going to pass, but then it seemed like he was going to stop," said Ricciardo quoted by Motorsport-Total.com.

Ricciardo holds himself responsible for the mistake. "I have already apologised," said the Renault driver. Verstappen responded "cool" to it, according to Ricciardo. The stewards have decided not to penalise the incident.

Car felt good

It was a good qualifying for Ricciardo and he can start from fifth position tomorrow. “I drove the car a lot in Q3 this year, but I haven't done such a good lap in Q3 so far. That was definitely the best round this year ”, the Australian concludes.
