Alexander Wurz has criticized to the Austrian TV channel ORF the possibility of having two day race weekend. He hit out at Liberty Media, saying they're only in it for the money.

"For the promoter of the Grand Prix itself, I find it anything but optimal. You have the same preparation costs, but now you only have two days in which you can recoup that money," said Wurz.

Advantage to the top teams?

In addition, he thinks that a two-day weekend, contrary to what many assume, is not an advantage at all for the smaller teams, but plays into the hands of the top teams. "This is very clearly a disadvantage for teams with young drivers or that are lagging behind."

Finally, he believes that a two-day event is also bad for the media. They can broadcast more weekends, but part of the 'story' that is being worked on during such a race weekend is lost. Saturday is in fact entirely devoted to qualifying, which means that less attention will be paid to the practice sessions.
