The two races that Bahrain is organising this season will have few fans present. The organisation of the Grands Prix wants to seize the opportunity to put the care workers of the country in the spotlight and provides tickets for the employees and family.

The organisation confirms this in a statement on BahrainGP.com. For the first time in its history Bahrain organises two Grands Prix in one season because of the coronavirus. Director Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa says he is pleased with the guidance and preparation the country has received for the Formula 1 races.

Special fans

“Whilst we will not be able to welcome many fans to our events this year, we are delighted to have the opportunity to recognise the courage and efforts of our frontline healthcare workers and first responders by allocating all in-person attendance of the F1 experience to them," Al Khalifa says.

“We are determined to put on a show for the hundreds of millions of people who will be watching from the safety of their own homes around the world," he concludes.
