It has been a tough season for Sebastian Vettel as he struggles to score points on a weekly basis with Ferrari. He will be replaced by Carlos Sainz, and all the focus of the team seems to be on Charles Leclerc. However, the will to win is still there.

In the Formula 1 podcast Beyond the Grid, Vettel answered the question of whether he is still motivated at all. "Yes. It's impossible to hold on to the first impression. You have to remember that you also live a life where you grow up and get older and more mature. But I'm still the same person," said Vettel.

Love for Formula 1 has changed

He continued: "But you learn over time. About Formula 1, about the people in Formula 1. That has already changed my perspective. I love Formula 1, that hasn't changed. But that love is different now than it was 14 years ago.

"Don't get me wrong, I am here to win. I love racing, but that's not the only reason I want to be here. I want to have a chance to win."

"Fighting for 16th place isn't that exciting. You don't get butterflies in your stomach from 16th place. Winning is still important, it is a confirmation of what you have achieved," concluded Vettel.
