Sergio Perez handled the Turkish rain well and will start tomorrow's race P3, which is his best qualifying result in his Formula 1 career. It was a great day for Racing Point, because Lance Stroll also performed well, taking pole position.

Just not fast enough for pole

“A great result for the team. It's something we didn't really expect, so we're very satisfied. We were a bit unhappy with our last lap because I had Giovinazzi in front of me and he just didn't get out of the way,” Perez said after qualifying.

“That made me lose my lap. We were strong from the start. Finding the right spot on the track was key to having the right tyre temperatures. I'd rather be third than second. I expect there will be a difference at the start," the Racing Point driver concludes.
