Stroll still awaiting FIA investigation: Possible to stay on pole anyway
- GPblog.com
It is not yet completely certain whether Lance Stroll will keep his pole position. There are quite a few drivers 'under investigation'. They might not have gone off the throttle enough during Q1 when the yellow flag came out. Whether this is actually the case is currently being investigated by the FIA race director.
It's about Russell, Sainz, Ricciardo, Gasly, Stroll, Magnussen, Bottas, Perez, Norris, Hamilton and Ricciardo. It is therefore not entirely out of the question that Max Verstappen will be able to start from pole position on Sunday at Istanbul Park.
It is also unclear what the penalty will be for a violation during yellow flags. More clarity will follow soon.
Will there still be grid penalties?
