Hakkinen is very impressed with Hamilton: 'That's just fantastic'

Mika Hakkinen saw a very dominant Lewis Hamilton during the race in Turkey. The former F1 champion was very impressed with the way in which the Mercedes driver took victory.
"It was very impressive how Hamilton won its seventh world title last Sunday," writes Hakkinen in his column for Unibet. "It seemed inevitable that he would become world champion, but to win from the third row of the starting grid is very clever."
Containment is difficult
The now 52-year-old former driver also has lots of experience within the sport himself, with his two world championships. Because of this he knows what he is talking about when he says that this kind of race is never easy for the drivers. "The tyre temperature is always very important. Containing an F1 car in such treacherous conditions is very difficult, even for the most talented and experienced driver."
"In many ways his performance in the race reminded us why Lewis has become the best driver of his generation. It was also a special way to match Michael Schumacher's record. I met Lewis for the first time when he was still karting, when it was clear he had a lot of talent and willpower, but to win seven World Championships between 2008 and 2020 is just fantastic," said the Finn.
