Mick Schumacher will drive for Haas F1 on December 15, La Gazzetta Dello Sport reported this weekend. According to the biggest sports newspaper in Italy, the test day will be officially published soon.

A test day will take place in mid-December to give young, talented drivers the chance to get to know Formula 1 cars. On the Abu Dhabi circuit, Schumacher will in all likelihood be entering the Haas car.

Actually, the son of seven-time world champion Michael was supposed to be in action for Alfa Romeo during the first free practice session of the German Grand Prix, but due to the weather conditions there was no driving during the first session of the weekend. A few months later Schumacher will be given a second chance, although it will be with another team.

For the time being, however, the focus of the 21-year-old German will be on winning his Formula 2 title. In the championship he defends a lead of 22 points over Callum Illot, another Ferrari-junior. Ilott will show his skills in Abu Dhabi during the test day for Alfa Romeo.

Everything points to Schumacher driving for Haas F1 in 2021. There is contact between the two parties, but for the time being the signatures have not yet been put on paper.
