For Sergio Perez, returning to Bahrain is always good. The Mexican took his first podium with Force India there in 2014, after a tough season at McLaren. However, the upcoming GP of Bahrain may well be his last.

In 2014, Perez arrived at Force India disillusioned. The Mexican had his chance at a top team (in decline), McLaren, go up in smoke after a bad season and left immediately. In the third race for his new team, however, Perez showed that he hasn't lost it yet, because what McLaren has failed to do for a year, Force India has succeeded: He was on the podium.

Perez wants to end positively

''It was a very special moment in my career and it’s incredible to think it happened in only my third race with the team. It’s amazing to think that we’ve scored five more podiums together since that day. It’s always a great feeling to revisit the circuit and remember 2014," said Perez in the preview of Racing Point.

However, at the end of 2020, Perez has to leave Racing Point and with the Mexican still not clear on 2021, this could be his last race on the circuit.

''Yeah, there is definitely a great atmosphere in the team right now. I also want to fight for P4 in the Drivers’ Championship and we managed to take that position after a great result in Turkey. That gives me confidence going into Bahrain and Abu Dhabi. We want to be fighting for podiums and the chance to sign off this era on a real high for the team and myself," concludes Perez optimistically.
