The Formula 2 championship is approaching its conclusion with two weekends and four races to go. The battle for the title seems to be mainly between Ferrari talents Mick Schumacher and Calum Ilott, but Schumacher will be playing catch-up in the first race.

Not completely satisfied

Mick Schumacher was only tenth fastest in qualifying today. "Qualifying today did not go as we had wished for it to happen unfortunately, so we cannot be totally satisfied," the young German told the Prema Racing website. His biggest competitor for the championship, Calum Ilott, will start tomorrow from pole position.

Schumacher didn't get fast times due to wrong adjustments to his car. "When I went out with my second set of tyres, we had made a small adjustment to the car which did not bring us what we had expected, and also I did not get a perfect lap together.”

Giving everything during the race

Schumacher, however, will not give in easily. "We will have a deep dive into our data in order to develop a good basis and plan for tomorrow’s race when I will give it my all. I know we will fight as best as we can." Yuki Tsunoda, third in the championship, starts even further from 22nd.
