BREAKING: Mazepin will make Formula 1 debut at Haas in 2021
Nikita Mazepin will make his Formula 1 debut for the Haas team in 2021.
Nikita Mazepin is the first driver to be appointed by Haas for the 2021 season. Mazepin is not a big name on the talent circuit, but with father Dmitry he has a billionaire who probably convinced Haas to take him. Mazepin won two races this season in his second season in Formula 2 and is sixth in the Championship.
Haas opt for a different path
Haas will take a completely different approach in 2021. Earlier it became clear that Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen will leave after years of loyal service. Haas now opts for talents who can also bring a bag of money with them. One of those drivers is Mazepin, the other is still unconfirmed.
The biggest contender for this seat seems to be Mick Schumacher. Callum Ilott confirmed that he will not be active in Formula 1 in 2021. We have not yet heard this from Robert Shwartzman. That Russian is therefore also a candidate for Haas, with which the line-up of the American Haas in 2021 can still consist entirely of Russian drivers.
