Romain Grosjean has left hospital and the Frenchman is doing well after his extreme crash at the Bahrain Grand Prix, but will still be undergoing certain treatments for his hands.
In addition to the big news this morning that George Russell will replace Lewis Hamilton at Mercedes, there is now some good news from the Haas team. Romain can go home.
Grosjean is allowed to leave the hospital
''Romain Grosjean was discharged from hospital at 10:30 local time (8:30 Dutch time). Grosjean stayed in the hospital for three nights after his incident at the Bahrain Grand Prix. Grosjean will still receive personal care for his hands that have been burned and will also have to stay in Bahrain for a while. On behalf of Grosjean and Haas we would like to thank everyone at the hospital," the statement says.
Grosjean has second-degree burns on his hands, after it turned out that the gloves are not as flame-resistant as they should be. Where the suit can hold the fire for more than twenty seconds, the gloves turned out not to be so.
