Haas have announced their line-up for 2021. Romain Grosjean and Kevin Magnussen have known for some time that they would no longer be driving for the team, but it is now clear that Nikita Mazepin and Mick Schumacher will be driving next season.
Schumacher and Mazepin have long been mentioned as the successors of Magnussen and Grosjean, and Mazepin was announced by the team on Tuesday, the arrival of Schumacher has now been made official. Günther Steiner is delighted with the two brand new drivers at his team.
Steiner happy with the arrival Schumacher
''I am very pleased that we can confirm Mick Schumacher in our line-up for next season and I look forward to welcoming him to the team. The Formula 2 Championship has long served as a testament to talent to show their qualities and this year's field has undoubtedly been one of the most competitive in recent seasons. Mick has won races, gathered podiums and excelled against some pretty exceptional talents in 2020," Steiner says in the press release.
''I'm convinced he has earned the opportunity to move into Formula 1 based on his performance. We have a chance as a team to evaluate and cherish a new driver, given our familiarity with our package in 2021," concludes Steiner, who will therefore face two rookies in 2021.
