It was announced on Thursday afternoon that Kevin Magnussen is making the switch to IMSA. Magnussen is leaving Formula 1, but he can't wait to start at his new team Chip Ganassi.

"If you race professionally somewhere in the world, you know the name Chip Ganassi and what it means in motorsport," says Magnussen to the official channels of his new employer. The Dane knows that he will end up in an experienced race team. "Chip has built up one of the best racing organisations on and off the track, you can see that they have been very successful in history, especially when it comes to racing sports cars.

The 28 year old is looking forward to the new challenge. "It's a great opportunity for me to work with CGR, Renger (van der Zande) and Cadillac. I can't wait to get started, meet the team and start preparing for the 2021 season," Magnussen said in a first reaction.
