Qualifying in Formula 2 has shown that it is almost impossible to qualify normally here with 22 cars. Yuki Tsunoda remains a contender for the title after his pole, while Mick Schumacher has made it particularly difficult for himself from P18.

The Formula 2 championship will be decided this weekend in Bahrain, the last F2 weekend of 2020. Yuki Tsunoda has had a good weekend so far, because with his pole he still has a chance of winning the title. Mick Schumacher is number one in the standings and is the favourite for the title, but he will start from P18 after an incident with Roy Nissany.

Tsunoda takes pole

Callum Ilott and Nikita Mazepin are the other contenders for the title. Mazepin starts from P2, but Tsunoda's pole sees the Japanese driver pass him in the general classification. Ilott will start ninth.

However, qualifying in Sakhir does not bode well for Formula 1. There were traffic jams and drivers getting in each other's way. So for the Formula 1 drivers, it is important to set a fast lap on Saturday, but in this chaos big names could sometimes miss out.
