Horner doesn't blame Verstappen for his statements about Albon

4 December 2020 at 20:36

Max Verstappen was quite critical of teammate Alexander Albon after the Bahrain Grand Prix. Despite the British-Thai's podium, the Dutchman was still far ahead during the Grand Prix.

A few days later, team boss Christian Horner is asked what he thinks of Verstappen's comments. "Max can sometimes name things quite clearly, or name them as he sees them. But there is nothing wrong and the atmosphere is good," Horner is quoted by Motorsport.com.

Albon and Verstappen still do fun things together

He does not reject Verstappen's statement and as proof of the good atmosphere, he gives as an example that the two went karting for an evening last Monday. He was there himself and the atmosphere was excellent according to him.

“Max simply states the facts. And he still saw the gap as a significant difference. But of course, Alex was held up a bit by Sergio Perez, who did well by the way, and it is very difficult to follow someone closely," Horner concludes.
