Sebastian Vettel was sliding over the circuit during the free practice sessions. However, he expects few problems during the first part of qualifying.

His team Ferrari did not have a good start of the weekend in Bahrain. Charles Leclerc barely made any laps in FP2 due to problems and Vettel was off the track more often than he was on it. The German even spun past Kevin Magnussen's Haas once. But according to Vettel all these problems are easy to explain.

New setup

"We used a new, very aggressive setup. We wanted to take more risk," he explains to Motorsport-Total.com. "But I don't think this was the right way to go. That's why we need to prepare well for the rest of the weekend". The first free practice went relatively well for the Italians: Vettel finished eighth and Leclerc tenth. "Then I think we were a little too cheeky and tried something that didn't work."

That's why the four-time world champion is cautiously optimistic about qualifying. "If all goes well Q1 shouldn't be such a problem. At the moment it is difficult to say if we have enough for Q3, also because it was such a crazy session. I think it will go better on Saturday," said Vettel.
