Perez responds to pictures of conversation with Marko
- GPblog.com
Speculation started flying today after an image of what appeared to be a private conversation between Red Bull boss Helmut Marko and Sergio Perez appeared today. Perez is still looking for a seat for the next season, but claims that the pictured conversation between him and the Red Bull top man was unrelated to this.
"I only greeted him", explains the Mexican driver, when he received questions about the conversation after qualifying. Formula 1 journalist Yhacbec Lopez quotes the current Racing Point man: "As they said, the decision will be taken in Abu Dhabi".

The future designated person for the second seat at Red Bull is still uncertain. Several names are still mentioned as potential replacements for Alex Albon. There is also a chance that Red Bull will decide to give Albon another chance next season, although this seems to be becoming more and more unlikely by the day. With two more races to prove himself, Albon did not do a good job today: he scored the twelfth fastest time and did not make it to the Q3.
Perez fifth
Perez, on the other hand, has shown his good side today. After a strong qualifying session at P5 tomorrow, he will be allowed to kick off the race, and after his late outing at Sakhir next week, the Mexican driver will be hungry to prove himself to his current as well as his possible future team.
