After a week's radio silence, Lewis Hamilton gave an update on his personal twitter account about his recovery from the coronavirus. Whether the British rider will be able to participate in the Abu Dhabi GP on Sunday is still unclear, although he says he is already feeling much better.
“This is definitely one of the hardest weeks that I've had in some time", admits the seven-time world champion in a video message on Twitter. "I've just been focused on recovering and trying to get back into shape so i can get back in the car and race the final race in Abu Dhabi.”
“I woke up today feeling great, and put my first workout in”, said Hamilton. He also took a moment to thank the fans who sent him their wishes for a good recovery.
Not just up to Hamilton
Hamilton's participation in the Abu Dhabi GP not only depends on the speed of his recovery, but he must also comply with the strict Covid measures in force when leaving Bahrain and when entering Abu Dhabi. He must also be on the grid before Saturday, since a driver cannot take part in a race without also having completed free practice or qualifying.
