Norris reassures McLaren will be stronger in Abu Dhabi: "More more comfortable"

With both F1 World Championship trophies secured by Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton, the battle for third place in the Constructors' Championship takes centre stage during the final Grand Prix weekend in Abu Dhabi. McLaren are still in the battle for third, along with Renault and Racing Point.

Improvements

Norris didn't have the best of weekends last time out, finishing in 10th while his closest rivals stepped on the podium. McLaren teammate Carlos Sainz wasn't far off in fourth, but McLaren lost ground.

After two practice sessions in Abu Dhabi, Norris remains confident McLaren will be stronger and therefore be able to put up a fight against Racing Point.

"It's been better today. Not perfect, but from the first laps we did we were much more comfortable and competitive compared to the other teams. We're happier and there's still a lot of things to improve on but it's a good start," Norris told Sky Sports.

Looking ahead

"Every session is learning for next year, especially when there's some different rules and so on. Always worth testing different bits of the car. It's difficult because we want to prepare for next year, but we need to maximise everything we do this weekend," Norris concluded.
