Gearbox change for both Red Bull Racing drivers
- GPblog.com
Both Red Bull Racing drivers will receive a new gearbox from the team for the third free practice session and qualifying tomorrow. Max Verstappen and Alexander Albon will then try to beat Mercedes.
The two teammates are not the only drivers who have a change of gearbox. Daniil Kvyat from AlphaTauri, Carlos Sainz from McLaren and Nicholas Latifi from Williams will also get a new gearbox.
No grid penalties
For all drivers the change will be without consequences, nobody will get a grid penalty because of this. Albon, Sainz, Kvyat and Latifi all four used their previous gearbox for six races. Then it is allowed to replace it without consequences.
Also for Verstappen the change will not be grid penalty. Because the Dutchman didn't finish during the previous race, it is allowed to adjust things to the car without penalty. Don't want to miss anything from FP3 and qualifying? Then make sure you follow the live blog of GPblog!
