Mercedes favourites

Since the introduction of the hybrid engines, Mercedes have been in control at the Yas Marina Circuit

This year, the free practices sessions have shown that Mercedes are very fast, especially in the third sector. On the straights in the first two sectors, Red Bull Racing can keep up, but in the twisty last part of the track, they lose almost half a second.

Battle for third in the Constructors' Championship

Mercedes and Lewis Hamilton have had their hands on the F1 world titles for a long time in 2020. But the battle for third-place goes right down to the wire. For McLaren, Renault and Racing Point, this battle is worth a lot of money.

Going into the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix weekend, Racing Point have a 10 point gap between themselves and fourth. This was boosted as a result of their double podium in Bahrain last weekend. McLaren are in fourth, and Renault are a further 12 points behind the Woking-based team.
