Bottas: "Being second can’t be that satisfying, but it's something"

For Valtteri Bottas, who closed the 2019 season very strongly, the 2020 season turned out to be a bit of a disappointment. After his first weekend in Austria, he was unable to pose any threat to Hamilton and even had to look back.
Max Verstappen came dangerously close several times in the championship and even during the last race at the Yas Marina Circuit he still had a view of the Finn's second place.
'At least it's something'
"As a driver, when you are in the best team overall this season, being second can’t be that satisfying", Bottas said to Motorsport.com. “But it is something, to be able to contribute to the team this season, getting the fourth constructors’ title for me in the team, and seventh in a row for us. It’s better than being third, for sure."
With the same material Bottas has never been able to do in those four years what Nico Rosberg did in the previous years. He was able to fight with his teammate almost every weekend and that earned him the world title in the third year. Bottas hopes to be able to turn the tide in that respect. "Hopefully one day I will get a bigger trophy".
