Leclerc learns a lot from a bad year: 'That's his strength'

For Charles Leclerc, 2020 was a tough year. In his first year for Ferrari, the Monegasque took two wins and seven poles, but in 2020 he had to make do with two podiums.
It has been a tough year for Ferrari, Leclerc and Sebastian Vettel. Ferrari have struggled with a lack of power from their engine, and Leclerc has only been able to make the podium twice. According to his manager Nicolas Todt he can still learn a lot from this season.
Heavy year for Leclerc
''For someone who is used to wanting to win so badly and someone who has always had an upward trend in his career, it is difficult to encounter such circumstances. This season will teach him a lot, because in difficult circumstances you grow. This year will feel like two for him," says FIA President Jean Todt's son to Corriere.it.
However, wanting to get better and better is in the nature of Leclerc, says Todt. ''His strength is to constantly recognise his own weaknesses. If he takes pole, but still makes a small mistake, he won't be satisfied. Few people think that way," Todt concludes.
