Priestley: "Red Bull also needs to look at itself"

Former Formula 1 engineer and pit reporter Marc Priestley thinks Red Bull Racing has made a good choice by contracting Sergio Perez to replace Alexander Albon. According to Priestley, Red Bull can now attack Mercedes with two drivers.
Dominance of Mercedes
"Red Bull Racing is a team with title aspiration. They want to win races and fight for titles. They are the best hope for the fans to break the dominance of Mercedes. So many people are fed up with the dominance of Mercedes," Priestley says in his YouTube video.
"But they can't do that with just one driver fighting at the front," the Brit continued. According to him, the problem since 2019 has been that Red Bull cannot compete against Mercedes with two drivers, whereas the German team has always had two strong drivers.
Albon has had enough time
"Alex Albon could not do that on a consistent basis, even though he had a fairly long time before. Red Bull has been patient and has given him time. It's a shame he's not here, because I've seen what he can do. He is certainly talented enough to drive in Formula 1," Priestley continues.
Then the pit reporter points his arrows at the car. The car is said to be difficult to drive for some drivers. "But that's the car they have. They made it with a vision and maybe the car needs a driver with a certain driving style. Max can do that clearly."
"What is a consistent problem with Red Bull is that the environment is not good for young drivers. There is too much pressure on them. Red Bull also needs to look at itself." In spite of all this, Priestley knows that Red Bull needs to get results now, so he thinks it's a logical choice to look outside the Red Bull family and contract Perez.
