Lewis Hamilton achieved his seventh world title in 2020 and outnumbered Michael Schumacher in terms of Grand Prix victories. He was, of course, rewarded with a trophy at the FIA gala, but that was not the only prize he received.
Hamilton beats own team boss
Indeed, Hamilton was elected 'Personality of the Year 2020' by the media that have permanent accreditation. It's the third time he has won this award and beat quite a list of nominees, including Max Verstappen and his own team boss Toto Wolff.
Hamilton, together with Michael Schumacher, also received a special prize that was personally thought up by Jean Todt. This is the prize for 'exceptional performance, courage and sportsmanship'. They received this prize not only for the record they now share, but also for their social commitment.
