Webber advises Verstappen: "You don't win five world titles in first five years"

Mark Webber enjoyed Max Verstappen again in 2021. The Dutch driver only won two Grand Prix, but that was more due to the RB16 than to himself. Webber does state that Lewis Hamilton is just a bit better on Sundays than the 23-year old driver from Limburg.
"Max has done a very, very, very good job," Webber believes. At the Formula 1 Magazine, the Australian former racing driver goes on to say that Verstappen is still developing every weekend. "He is in the final phase of fine-tuning his craftsmanship, if I may put it that way. Is he already Lewis Hamilton on Saturday, in that he is the same as Lewis in the qualifications? Yes. Is he Lewis on Sunday? No, he is not. But that's normal."
Verstappen gets advice
Verstappen now has six full seasons in Formula 1. Michael Schumacher and Ayrton Senna took their first world title in their sixth year. Webber thinks that Verstappen should not become too impatient. "You don't win five world titles in your first five years in Formula 1. Nobody has done that.
"There aren't many drivers who get into such a situation: that you can dominate for a while and have the calm and regularity to do so without becoming complacent. That is experience. That's what he has to learn," the former F1 driver comes up with some advice.
