Drivers choose this year's best driver: Both Red Bull drivers in the top ten
- GPblog.com
Previously the team bosses listed their top ten drivers for the 2020 season and now the drivers themselves have also been asked to decide who they think is the best this season. Remarkable is that not all drivers have participated and that in the end the top two is equal to the top two of the team bosses ranking.
The points given by the drivers are in line with the Formula 1 system. The number 1 gets 25 points and the tenth place has to do with a single point. Of the twenty drivers, Valtteri Bottas, Lewis Hamilton, Sebastian Vettel, Charles Leclerc and Kimi Raikkonen did not vote, but despite this, there were still fifteen drivers who made up their top ten.
Verstappen and Albon in the top ten
At number one in the list of Formula1.com is again Lewis Hamilton, followed by Max Verstappen. It is striking that Valtteri Bottas has no place at all in the top ten. The drivers feel that the Finn is not one of the top ten drivers of 2020. Number three is Daniel Ricciardo, who was in fourth place behind Charles Leclerc on the team bosses' list.
The Monegasque is back on P4 in this list, followed by Pierre Gasly and George Russell, who, despite his few points for Mercedes, gets the sixth place in the list. Sergio Perez is on P7, with Romain Grosjean and Carlos Sainz behind him. Alexander Albon closes the list in tenth place, completing the list of drivers.
