- GPblog.com
It's time for the winter break and that means drivers and teams can enjoy a well-deserved holiday? In the F1 Social Stint from GPblog.com you will find out what drivers and teams are doing in preparation for the next Formula 1 season.
Seven, seven
Lewis Hamilton is a year older today and the success driver can, of course, count on congratulations from his employer. Mercedes does this with a short video, in which they have juxtaposed his seven cars, with which he has won his seven titles. We won't get many more words out of it, press play below to see the result.

Will Rich Energy return to Formula 1?
On the Twitter account of Williams Storey, the founder of the infamous Rich Energy brand, you can read that a huge comeback can be expected. Rich Energy was already a sponsor of Haas in F1, but never lived up to their payment commitments. Is there really a team that wants to have this brand on the car in 2021?

Verstappen makes a trip on the water scooter
Max Verstappen lives in Monaco, of course, and Red Bull Racing once again shows some images of a Verstappen who at least doesn't sit still. On the water scooter Verstappen has a lot of fun off the coast of Monaco.

Ricciardo shows his qualities as a basketball player
Daniel Ricciardo shows in a new video on his Instagram account that he would also be a good basketball player. From the middle line he mainly surprises himself when he shoots 'at once'. The question is how many attempts the Australian will really have made to hit.

McLaren has updated its site
The new year has begun and that means that many drivers have officially changed teams. Daniel Ricciardo is one of them. After 2020 he exchanged his Renault for a McLaren and can be seen on the website for the first time in McLaren clothing.

Verstappen replaces Kvyat at 'Team Piquet'
Max Verstappen found love last year and hopes that all his followers will do the same next year. He reports this in his New Year's greeting on Instagram. On the accompanying photo you can see him with Kelly Piquet. If that name looks familiar, it is probably because she is the daughter of triple world champion Nelson Piquet. But probably also because she is the ex of Daniil Kvyat, with whom she also has a child.

One more time Vettel in red
With the departure of Sebastian Vettel at Ferrari, an era in Maranello comes to an end. The German was recruited in 2015 as a replacement for Fernando Alonso in the hope that they could repeat with him the success of Michael Schumacher. This was by no means a success, but for at least two seasons Vettel was the only one who could make things difficult for Lewis Hamilton and Mercedes. That is why he deserves a last goodbye.

Red Bull Racing thanks important partner after 100 races
The roads of Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin will separate at the end of 2020, after a great collaboration. Aston Martin will continue as the new factory team, taking over the Racing Point team. For the time being, Red Bull will continue without a title sponsor, but not without thanking Aston Martin once more.

Playing a game with the Ferrari drivers; Leclerc dodges question
Apart from the fact that Ferrari drivers naturally love speed, they also enjoy an old-fashioned game from time to time like Who is it? This time completely in the theme of Formula 1 with all drivers as possibilities. When the question "Is he pretty?", comes from Sebastian Vettel, Charles Leclerc seems to be avoiding the question.

Is Mercedes hinting at a return of Formula 1 to Malaysia?
Petronas is a major sponsor of the circuit in Sepang, where a Formula 1 race has always been organised until 2017. After that, the beloved circuit disappeared from the calendar, but the tweet from Mercedes might hint at a return of this race and with the clearing left by Vietnam, there is still a possibility for this race.
Malaysia, we've missed you this year.

Grosjean can hardly believe the quick recovery of his hands
Less than a month ago, Romain Grosjean jumped out of his Hare that was on fire and burned his hands. The Frenchman now sends a photograph showing his right hand. There are hardly any traces of the fire to be seen. His left hand is also getting better, but according to Grosjean it is not yet ready for a photo.

Saying Merry Christmas in Abu Dhabi feels weird according to Ocon
On behalf of Renault, Esteban Ocon and Daniel Ricciardo wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Especially Ocon finds it strange to say, with 25 degrees Celsius outside and a shining sun in Abu Dhabi.

Norris ridicules Sainz's Ferrari outfit
Lando Norris and Carlos Sainz have been a golden couple for McLaren in recent years. Not only on the track they brought out the best in each other, but also outside the track. But that doesn't seem to stop now that Sainz has left for Ferrari, because they still know where to find each other online and that makes for great messages.

Leclerc beats Vettel on really every part by 2020
On Twitter, the official channel of Formula 1 pits the teammates of 2020 against each other. This time it is the turn of Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc. However, young Monegask's team mate is in charge of every part of the race. In 2021, the four-time world champion will compete against Lance Stroll at Aston Martin, while Leclerc will have a new opponent in the form of Carlos Sainz.

Kvyat back in 2022?
We do not see Daniil Kvyat in 2021 on the grid now that Yuki Tsunoda replaces him at AlphaTauri. On Twitter the Russian jokes about a possible return in 2022. Although the chance seems rather small, you never know with Kvyat. It will not be his first comeback in any case.

Norris uncomfortable receiving two 'Ziggo Prizes'
Jack Plooij was able to hand out four prizes on behalf of the fans of Ziggo Sport. Two of them went to Lando Norris. The Briton received the prize for the best of the rest of the 2020 onboard radio, but also the prize for 'best of the rest' driver of 2020. The conversation about this went somewhat awkward.

Carlos Sainz said goodbye to McLaren where he worked for two years on a strong comeback of the team from Woking. Hulkenberg comes up with 'plan B
Last season, Nico Hulkenberg focused entirely on a possible return to Formula 1. He made no secret of the fact that he had his eye on the seat next to Max Verstappen at Red Bull Racing. The fact that Red Bull chose Sergio Perez is probably a big disappointment, but fortunately 'De Hulk' can deal with that with some self-mockery. On Instagram he placed his 'plan B': shovelling seaweed on the beach.

Getting into the grid
In itself, the young driver had made the journey from his home to Monaco's Automobile Club on foot, but of course that is not the way to arrive at a gala. Certainly not at the prestigious FIA gala, where prizes are awarded every year. Verstappen poses in front of the entrance in a dinner jacket next to a Honda NSX, the pride of his Japanese engine supplier. The Japanese flag is reflected in the white paint with the red brake discs and red interior.

Son of Horner tries to cuddle him in a remarkable way
Christian Horner's son has probably not seen his father for some time. When his father appears on TV, he only briefly embraces the team boss of Red Bull Racing. Meanwhile, little Horner will be reunited with his father and he can really hug him again.
Social media manager Mercedes takes his moment
Formula 1 today published a list of all confirmed names for the 2021 F1 grid. Now that Yuki Tsunoda has been confirmed at AlphaTauri, only Red Bull Racing and Mercedes have not yet entered their names. The latter will of course include Lewis Hamilton, but he shouldn't wait too long with the negotiations, because someone within the team is preying on the seat as well.

McLaren sends 'gift' to big rival Ferrari
Over the years, McLaren and Ferrari have always been and will continue to be major rivals in Formula 1. The changeover of Carlos Sainz does, however, fraternize, because in a McLaren video, staff members of McLaren wish Carlos Sainz every success at Ferrari, but mainly Ferrari wishes this 'gift' as well, after McLaren took care of it himself for two years. All this is done in Italian.

Mercedes 'in panic' after bio has disappeared, needs help from Bono
Mercedes' marketing department has had a lot of fun in recent weeks with the rumours that came earlier about the modified bios of Valtteri Bottas and George Russell. Mercedes now claims to have lost their own bio and asks 'in a panic' if Bono knows where the bio has gone.
