Major changes in midfield: Iconic colours and names disappear
- GPblog.com
The Formula 1 grid is going to look quite different next year. Especially in midfield, a lot will change with the name changes of Renault and Racing Point. This is also accompanied by the loss of some iconic sponsors.
It is no longer news that Renault's yellow will disappear from the grid next year. It remains a factory team but continues under the name Alpine and the house colour of that brand is blue. Although no official livery has yet been unveiled, the team showed an example of a car dressed in a predominantly blue livery with some red accents at their presentation earlier this year.
Also, another iconic brand within the Renault family will disappear from the car. Motor Authority announces that the name Infinity will disappear from the car. The Japanese brand had three world titles on the Red Bull Racing car and is now turning its back on Formula 1 after ten years.
No more pink on the 2021 grid
The other major change of course takes place at Racing Point. Starting next year, the team will be called Aston Martin and it looks as if the now-famous pink livery of title sponsor BWT will disappear.
On the registration list for 2021, BWT is not included in the official name of the Aston Martin team. According to Decalspotter, the cooperation with the water company will probably be terminated and Cognizant (IT company) will be the possible successor. Their company colour is also blue.
On the revised #F1 2021 entry list, BWT is found absent from the Aston Martin team name.

Decalspotters now understand BWT are likely to leave the team as a partner. Cognizant are the top contenders for a principal/title sponsor spot.#AstonMartin #BWT pic.twitter.com/7O2gMOlR1C
