Max Verstappen won a prize on Saturday during the presentation of the VCO SIMMY Awards. The Red Bull Racing driver was awarded the Best Real-World Pro award for his excellent performance in sim racing last year.
When the start of the Formula 1 season was moved from March to the beginning of July, Verstappen had a lot of time to simrace. The 23-year old Dutchman made use of that time. Verstappen was highly regarded during, for example, the Porsche Esports Supercup and he even won the 'Real Racers Never Quit' championship.
After more than 4,000 votes, Verstappen was elected Best Real-World Pro, according to The Race. The awards were divided by a mix of votes from fans and votes from a panel.

Team Redline received the award for the best team of 2020. The online team include Verstappen, Norris and Maximillian Benecke. However, there was even more Dutch success because Jarno Opmeer was voted best simracer. The twenty-year-old won the official F1 simrace competition in 2020.
