Leclerc sees 2020 as his best season in Formula 1

The 2020 season was one to forget for Ferrari. Yet Ferrari driver Charles Leclerc sees it very differently. The Monegasque believes it was his best season in F1 yet
From the winter tests in Barcelona in February 2020, it was clear to see Ferrari would be off the pace. The team missed the top speed and it looked like it was going to be a tough season. Ferrari only finished sixth in the Constructors' Championship and only made it to the podium three times.
Positive year for Leclerc
For Leclerc there were two sides to the season: "For myself, I think it's my best season personally in Formula 1. I think what I've shown on track I'm very happy with my season," explained the Monegasque to Autosport.com.
"I've taken risks, that most of the time went positively, and made us gain a lot of points. On a few occasions it also didn't happen the way I wanted and we've lost a few points. But I think, on the other hand, the season has been very positive for my own performance," continued Leclerc.
Back to the top with Ferrari
Leclerc thinks that the team made some good steps during the 2020 season, despite the fact that the team found it difficult to compete. "It was small steps, but as I said, small steps in the right direction and this is not always a given in Formula 1."
