Sergio Perez has had an eventful season. The Mexican became infected with the coronavirus, lost his seat at Racing Point, won a race and now gets the chance at Red Bull Racing in 2021. He sums it all up nicely himself.
By 2020, Perez will have experienced almost everything that you can imagine. All the ups and downs have passed, but it has a fairytale ending. Perez will be allowed to drive for Red Bull Racing in 2021. A top team in Formula 1 and he says he has been working hard for that for 25 years.
Finally the chance for Perez
In a Tweet by Perez he sums up his year. He starts with the fact that he had a 'competitive car', but the results didn't come. Then, at the most crucial moment of his career, the coronavirus came and infected him. He thought that everything was lost at that moment.
Still, he ended up on the podium a few races later and an engine problem in Bahrain ruined the chance of another podium. With his victory, however, he experienced a highlight, which was rewarded with a contract with Red Bull.
