McLaren proud of Norris: 'Good thing he addresses such problems'

This season McLaren not only left a good impression on the track, but they also did a lot of social work. The theme of mental health has been given a high priority within the team by using special helmets during the Eifel Grand Prix. Team boss Zak Brown especially sees the many efforts of Lando Norris.
"I think it is enormously good. I was talking to someone about Lando and they wondered if he really is like he is on social media. That, of course, is how many people know him. I think that's one of the reasons why he's so popular. Everything you see of him is really his. He's honest and authentic," Brown explains to Autosport.
Norris unique and entertaining to see
Norris also called attention to mental health several times during the lockdown. "It's great to have someone who puts problems on the map and does so in their own way, I think that's very important," Brown says. It's not just the attention that Norris gives to social problems that makes Norris popular, Brown thinks.
"I think Lando is also giving a new lease of life to sport and it's amusing to watch him. Actually he is a shy person, but you can't see that through his social media. He's just unique and he's quite comfortable in that environment. We are proud that he is so comfortable in bringing this issue to the attention of the public in this way," concludes Brown.
