Something that every F1 fan will remember from the 2020 season is the crash of Romain Grosjean in Bahrain. But rarely do such crashes occur in the sport. The Haas F1 driver survived the crash because of the good safety in the sport. However, the results of the research into the crash will still be of great importance.
IndyCar watches Grosjean's crash
The IndyCar has indicated as an organization that it would like to learn from the crash in Bahrain. They are eagerly awaiting the results of the investigation. In the light of the necessary improvement to the aeroscreen of the IndyCar cars, the research will be useful.
IndyCar boss Jaye Frey spoke to Racer.com: “We all saw what happened with [Grosjean], and what’s the result? Well, the result was what you want, and the driver was okay." Frye wants to see what can be improved despite the differences between the halo of the F1 cars and the aeroscreen of the IndyCar.
"Our system is different from F1, but there are many similarities we can take over."
