Renger van der Zande will return to the World Endurance Championship next season, where he will compete for the LMP2 team Inter Europol together with Alex Brundle and Kuba Smiechowski.

Comeback to WEC and Le Mans

Van der Zande has been competing in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship for several years, where he will be competing alongside Kevin Magnussen for Ganassi Racing next season. The driver will also compete in the WEC, and will participate in the Le Mans 24 Hours.

"It is a privilege to add this WEC program to my IMSA program with Ganassi," said Van der Zande in conversation with the Dutch branch of Motorsport.com. "Given the prototypes that are coming into the WEC, I think it is important to remain active in this class as well. It is very important to continue to gain experience in this area.

"However, IMSA is my priority. I've been racing in America for years and I feel at home in that class. The WEC has always been an outing in recent years and will be in 2021. Inter Europol has been working hard over the last few years to get into the front LMP2, so I'm happy with this deal," added Van der Zande.
