Stroll has confidence in it: 'Vettel will make us work as champions'

After being dismissed early in the season at Ferrari, Sebastian Vettel has been looking for a new employer for a long time. That eventually became Lawrence Stroll, who doesn't attach much importance to the German's 2020 season.
For a long time, it seemed that we would say goodbye to Sebastian Vettel in Formula 1 from 2021. In fact, all the seats in the teams at the top and in midfield seemed to be full until Aston Martin F1 Team - then Racing Point - announced that it had parted ways with Sergio Perez and accepted the four-time world champion.
It's clear that Vettel didn't win the seat based on his performance last year. "Sebastian has had a very challenging year. We would all find it very difficult to lose your job just before the season starts. It is mentally very difficult and you know what mentality is for drivers in F1," Lawrence Stroll said in an interview with the BBC.
Thinking like a champion
The Canadian businessman knows that Vettel needs a car that suits him. "He had a car last year that he found difficult to drive and that didn't match his driving style. We've seen that before in his final year with Red Bull in 2014. But he is a four-time world champion. I don't think he's forgotten how to drive in one year. He has a work ethic that knows no equal in the paddock based on how hard he works."
Stroll is confident that his new German driver will lead the team to where he wants them to go. "One of the ways we're going to be world champions is to make my boys think and work as world champions. And you do that by including a four-time world champion in your team," concludes the owner of the Aston Martin F1 Team.
