Alonso started to appreciate F1 during absence: 'He can be world champion again'

Fernando Alonso will return to Formula 1 next season after two years of absence. In the meantime, he has tried almost every discipline imaginable in motor sport, but it turns out there is nothing like F1.
At least that is what his compatriot Pedro de la Rosa says in the new documentary made about Alonso. "He loves Formula 1. These last few years in which he left the sport have made him appreciate F1".
Carlos Sainz does not have the same effect in Spain
His return is therefore a positive development in many respects, according to De la Rosa. Not only for Alonso personally, but also for Formula 1. Indeed, it will boost the enthusiasm of the Spanish fans, something Carlos Sainz has not yet been able to do on his own.
"In Spain he created excitement around the sport, it was all a bit sad before Alonso appeared. People were completely indifferent to Formula 1 because there wasn't a Spaniard who could win," said De la Rosa, adding that he thinks Alonso had a chance to win a third world title.
