Aston Martin wants to get close to fans: "That might sound like a platitude"

Aston Martin has plans to make social media a very important issue for the team. Through social platforms, the team wants to involve 'the fans right in the heart of the team'.
F1 team takes centre stage
"[The] team will bring a new attitude and energy with it, expanding our appeal beyond the existing core and casual Formula 1 fans", owner Lawrence Stroll explained to RaceFans.net. According to Stroll, the team's presence in Formula One will be central to the marketing strategy.
In addition to social platforms such as Instagram and Twitter, the team also wants to engage with emerging platforms such as Esports. "Everyone knows what Aston Martin stands for but the Formula 1 team will allow us to take the essence of the brand to new places", Stroll continued.
A bit cliché
Aston Martin will not only want to target the current generation of fans, but also the next. Social media will be a key component, as this is how the team can best connect with fans. "I want them to know that we want to bring them right into the heart of this team and our journey", he said.
"That might sound like a platitude, but I can assure you it’s a serious ambition that has been the focal point of a huge amount of work over the past 12 months", Stroll concludes.
