It's time for winter break and that means drivers and teams can enjoy a well-deserved holiday. GPblog.com's F1 Social Stint finds out what drivers and teams are doing in preparation for the 2021 Formula One season.

Verstappen enjoys vacation with his girlfriend

Meanwhile, Max Verstappen is already in full training for the 2021 Formula One season, but he did enjoy his time off after the last Grand Prix of 2020. His girlfriend Kelly Piquet posted a video on Instagram, which shows that she is on vacation with Max Verstappen and her daughter.

Bottas enjoys the Northern Lights show

Valtteri Bottas enjoyed a 'show' last night, as he describes it on Twitter. The Finn was able to witness the light phenomenon and that is of course not everyone's cup of tea. He shared it on his social channels, although the Northern Lights are even more beautiful in real life.

Sainz looks back on first week as Ferrari driver

Carlos Sainz looks back on his first week in red with satisfaction. The Spaniard drove his first kilometres in the 2018 SF21-H and has familiarised himself with Ferrari's test circuit.

The new MCL35M will be presented by McLaren on 15 February and before then, there are still some things to be done. However, on the social channels McLaren is hinting again. This time, we see a picture with the word "Car Assembly" clearly visible. It will not take long before the car of Carlos Sainz and Lando Norris is ready.

Sainz scores points with the Ferrari fans

There is a message circulating on Twitter from a Ferrari fan who was present at Carlos Sainz' test at the Fiorano circuit. The message, written by one Chiello, says Sainz came back to a group of fans after the test to have a chat. The Spaniard can't go wrong in Italy already.

Tsunoda goes full risk on the Imola circuit

Yuki Tsunoda is testing this week at the Imola circuit with AlphaTauri. It is unclear in which car the young Japanese driver will drive, but he will be able to make a lot of metres towards the start of the season. See here a shot in the fast chicane.

Red colour is starting to get used to for Sainz

Carlos Sainz was allowed to test all day in the 2018 Ferrari on Wednesday, but he also got to be in action on Thursday morning. The pictures we get from Fiorano are beautiful. Ferrari is testing there on its own circuit. This afternoon and also tomorrow, Mick Schumacher will be the last to be in action.

Vettel has lost his wild hair

Aston Martin F1 Team has been sharing short videos and teasers about Sebastian Vettel's arrival at the factory for the past two days. The German is of course there to prepare for the upcoming season and tonight the team shared another video. It shows Vettel and he is causing quite a stir with his new haircut. He clearly lost his wild hair, is it because of his time at Ferrari...?

Hear the MCL35M fort he first time

McLaren is working hard to get their car ready for this year and that was quite a challenge. Because of the change of engine supplier the car had to be adjusted quite a bit. They have switched from Renault to Mercedes and that makes their new car consist of as many new parts as last year, as you can read here. Meanwhile, the core is in place and the moment to start the engine for the first time was there today.

Ferrari junior puts in first F1 kilometres

Marcus Armstrong has completed his first kilometres in a Formula 1 car. The Ferrari junior did so during the extensive test by Ferrari and AlphaTauri at Fiorano. A moment the New Zealander will not soon forget. Armstrong will drive his second season in Formula 2 next year and moves from ART to DAMS.

Charles Leclerc has completed his first day of work for Ferrari. After a quarantine period he could now appear in the Ferrari car, to make his first metres of the season on Tuesday. On Wednesday Carlos Sainz will get into the car and Mick Schumacher will also be in action for Ferrari this week.
